First Step Towards Independence

For many children attending a Day Care Center might be the first of many steps on the road toward independence. This first step can be both an exciting or difficult time for parents and children alike. At Grace Pre School we recognize that each child is an individual and we encourage individual growth; while at the same time understand their need for security an safety.

In order to foster independency, children must be able to have confidence in themselves and the adults around them. They must be able to establish trust with the adults around them. This takes time and parents should try to help children cope with this stage.

We at Grace Pre School feel it is important to develop a close working relationship between teacher and parents. We feel that this partnership is important because it will provide a sense of security and growth for the child entering the D Day Care Center for the first time.
